IFR Velours are made from polyester that is specifically made to be inherently flame retardant. This means they do not need to be retreated frequently for use in public buildings. These IFR velours are commonly used in stage drapery, especially the masking curtains that block the audience's view of the wings and fly space. Some of the heavier fabrics are an excellent option for the main curtain, or grand drape in a theatre. Keep in mind that due to the nature of the polyester thread, none of these fabrics are 100% black out fabrics, so to completely block light, a liner would need to be sewn into the drape.
